BRAIN-MIND

I consider myself something of a night owl. I am also a early bird as well. For as long as I can remember this has not been a problem at all. Getting 5 hours of sleep a night was totally fine.

Since I turned 25 something weird switched. It gets to be 8:30 and my brain-mind starts shutting off. I can't think, I can barely speak english, and I lose all feeling in my left hand. Just kidding. I just get real tired.

Anywho, the summer has just started and i already have it all planned out. Lots of work! But it's all to get ready for something big and exciting.

Commit This To Memory

Here are some phrases that one would be smart to remember. Who knows when you could a phrase like this;

-"If I bought a new Cadillac and you were sittin' on a feather, we'd both be tickled"

-"I'm sweatin' more than a pregnant fox in a forest fire!"

-"I used to try my hand at the ol' licorice stick (clarinet). And the ol' slush pump (trombone).


An old volunteer I work with uses phrases like this all day and it makes me laugh my guts out. Then, when I don't know what the phrases mean (like the first one), he says, "Petey, where'd you grow up? Under a rock?"

Awesome.

The Difference Between Here And There

Sometimes it seems that you are never more aware of where you are than when you become aware of who you aren't around. My brother and his girlfriend Helen live in Driggs Idaho, my sister, brother-in-law and niece live in Hayward, Wisconsin and my folks live in Rochester, Minnesota. This makes me super aware of the choices I've made to be where I am now and it makes me wonder if I should have made different choices. I wish they were closer.

Anywho. Enough of that. Here are a couple of pictures.



For some reason I find that in many pictures, I am flexing my muscles. I've always thought that I was just joking around when doing this, but the number of pictures with me doing this really makes me think that I actually believe this is what one should do when getting photographed.

A Cluster Cuss

Life is quite busy right now. I'm working six days a week, working on my parents' house, playing shows, trying to record, looking for a part time job, and making lots of plans that I can't quite talk about yet. I'm going a bit Nutso Buttso. Speaking of nutso buttso, do you know what a tanuki is? It's a Japanese mythological creature that has gigantic testicles and attacks travelers in the forest.

Lately/An Hour Ago

Awesome Kung Fu movie. Sweet moves. I can't wait for Ong Bak 3 and more elephant wrangling.

25 Years Ago

It was birthday yesterday. woohoo. I'm now 25 years old. I had some folks over for a little last minute shin-dig. It was real nice. I'm glad I asked my boss if I could come in a little late today.
